In every Age and Time there has always been a Sim Law to live by for all Sims in any Sim Nation. When I founded Sim Platin Heights, there were not really any Laws, but things have changed.
The Laws you find here will be expanded and changed as needed for the good of the Community.
The Laws of Sim Platin Heights as of August 21st, 2010
Part 1, Rights, general Laws and Taxes:
1. Rights of Birth
1.a Every Sim born in Sim Platin Heights has the right to live here, even if
one (not both) parent(s) stems from another Hood. If both parents stem
from another Hood and the child has no current job, he may be relocated
to a subhood.
1.b Every Sim has the right to build on their land a house that shall be no
more than one story and a half Story high. (One Story and no more than
three rooms in another)
1.c Every Sim has the right to live alone by default, divorce or other
circumstances.
1.d Each Sim, that is Alien (as born from the stars) has to relocate to
Aliaversity as a teen and may not return to Sim Platin Heights but
must relocate to a specially designed area of a designated subhood.
This is a simple Precaution as we do not know much about these Creatures yet.
1.e Each Plantsim, Vampire and Alien have specific rules to live by, check the
"Code of Conduct for Special Sims"
2. Childhood
2.a Each Child, special or not, shall be given the opportunity to free skill.
2.b Every Child, special or not, shall be homeschooled and the fees for
supplies of 500$ shall be paid at the birthday when the toddler grows
into a child.
2.c There shall be no expectations of skill or grade for a child to be judged
by.
2.d Every child except "Special Sims" must go to boarding school the day it
reaches teenhood. Boarding School costs 2.000 simoleons per child and
may be credited to the parents.
2.e It is the parents choice if their teens go to Platin State University.
The costs for 8 semesters of college are 7.500$ per teen.
2.f Children need at least 7 Creativity Skillpoints to apply for Platin State
University.
3. Rent
3.a Rent for each House shall be paid to the landlord (according to
Landlord/Tenant Deal Import).
3.b The Landlord shall charge no more than 1.800$ for a Rambler and no
more than 2.300$ for a two Story house.
3.c If there is a Business Owner renting a house that needs more space than
a regular family, (e.g. Farmers, Fishers) the rent shall be no more than
2.000$ for a Rambler and no more than 3.000$ for a two-story house.
4. Taxes
4.a Taxes shall be paid by each living responsible Couple or Single Tenant
according to Sim Law.
4.b General Taxes: General Taxes are there to support buildings like a
detention facility, public Parks, cover fees like newspapers, Sewing and
electricity, Police & Fire Departments and local Roads.
Those taxes are not covered by Bills each Sim pays twice weekly. These
taxes must be paid every Monday as following: 10% of the total
Familyfunds.
4.c Farmer's Tax:
Farmers have to pay for farm plots to the land they grow harvestables on.
They go by plots as here:
5 plots: 1.000 $
10 plots: 2.000 $
20 plots: 5.000 $
30 plots: 7.500 $
40 plots: 10.000 $
4.d If a farmer has more than 40 plots, there will be a one time fee of
15.000$. Additionally he will have to pay a industrial fee of 1.000 $
every Monday
4.e If a farmer builds a greenhouse to grow his harvestables, he has to pay a
one time Building fee of 6.500 $ before building.
4.f Fishers alone need a permit for building a pond on their lot. The
fee for this shall be no more than 1.200 $, considering the size of the lot
and the size of the pond.
5. Community Lots
5.a Every Sim shall be allowed to buy a community lot, empty or with build.
5.b Every Sim shall pay the taxes to entertain a business on a community lot.
Those Taxes shall be 10% of the business value on every Monday
morning. Also Property Flat Taxes of 500 $ shall be paid on the same
day.
6. Inheritance, Fee for Sims who inherit a house
6.a Every Sim who is the successing heir to a house shall pay an eigth
(Household Funds divided by eight) as Inheritance Tax.
7. Immigration and Emigration
7.a Every Sim who was not born in the MainHood, but lives there, is to be
considered an Imigrant.
7.b Every Sim who moves from Sim Platin Heights shall be considered an
Emigrant.
7.c Immigrants from the CAS Land have no fees or taxes to pay on entry, but
will have to do so as soon as they have settled.
7.d Emigrants who choose to live in a subhood, have to pay an Emigration
Fee of 1.000 $
7.e Children of Imigrants who inherit the House in the Main Hood are to be
paid a grant of 2.500$ by the ruling disciple (King, Mayor...), if the
Parents move to a subhood.
8. Subhoods
8.a Any Downtown or Shopping Hood is to be considered a Subhood.
8.b Sims may move to said Subhoods with appropiate Application and
Moving Fee paid.
8.c The Moving Fee is 12.500 $ if they take the House and all Belongings
with them. The Moving Fee is 6.500 $ if they move onto an empty lot
and go to SIMBIN to move to a new Hood / Subhood.
8.d Elders who move to a Subhood Retirement Home do not need to pay fees
but are required to provide for their own essential belongings, as they
will move into Apartments in the Retirement Home.
9. Code of Conduct for Special Sims
9.a A Sim fulfills the "Special Sim" Category when he / she is an Alien,
Werwolf, Vampire, Zombie or Plantsim.
9.b Special Sims are required to live in a special area in Sim Platin Heights
itself or in the Science and Research Area in Downtown.Their families
can choose to move with them or stay behind.
9.c Other than above Laws there is no lawful Difference in those Sims. They
too have to abide by National Sim Law, pay Taxes and Fees and have the
Rights, Duties and Privileges every other Sim has.
10. Divorces and Child Support
10 a Divorces and moving out
Divorces have to be applied for at the Courthouse. The Party who leaves
the house shall have the Household Networth divided by six if they built
the House themselves but are renting the Property. If they lived in an
Apartment, the leaving Party shall get a one time Benefit of 3.500 $ from
his Spouse as Initial Support. If they leave with Children they shall get
1.000 $ for every Baby, Toddler or Child and 800 $ for every Teen that
moves out with them.
10 b Child Support. Any Sim may file or sue for Child Support from their Ex
Spouse. The Spouse without custody of the Children shall be pay 500$
for every Child he or she is a parent of every Monday.
11 Law of Work and Unemployment
11 a Every Sim has the right to apply for work in any desired field. Sims may
apply for regular Careers or they may apply to work at Communitylots
that are owned and operated by other Sims.
11 b Every Sim has the Duty to look and apply for Jobs to be a supporting
Member and responsible for the Function of the Community Support
System.
11 c Sims who lost their jobs or are unable to work may apply for a one time
Unemployment Support of 3.500$ to help out with Rent, Clothing, Food
etc.
12 Pets
12 a Every Sim has the right to hold Pets in their home or apartment. A one
time Pet Fee for Dogs and Cats are required. This fee is 1.000 $.
12 b Sims may choose their Dogs and Cats from the Pound or, supporting the
Community Spirit, they may buy them from the locally owned Shelter
or Pet Store.
12 c When a big pet (Dog or Cat) dies, it is unlawful to keep their graves on
a Sim's Lot. The Dog or Cat MUST be buried on a Sim Platin Heights Pet
Cemetery.
13. Death
13.a When a Sim dies of Age, there shall be no automatic inheritance given out.
Instead, there will be a grant for relatives not living with the Deceased.
13.b The Dead may not be buried on a Sim's owned Property, House or Business.
Instead, a Cemetery shall be built, funded by Taxes and Household Fees.
